Fellow citizen and Chain-Mail-News reader,
First, I want to thank each one of you. For those who passed this citizen protest on, our message has spread across the country. In just two weeks, we have organized protests in 29 states, with unorganized protests in 7 more. All but one on Sunday. Washington DC was refused a permit for Sunday, and are protesting Saturday instead. This is a remarkable achievement we can all share in. For those of you who can't show up Sunday, by your participation here, I want you to know, you showed up! My full appreciation goes out to you.

To our readers, thank you for your interest and support. I understand many of you participate in ways other than this email. (If my mother forwarded this email to her email list, I would be her only recipient!). I appreciate your effort in whatever way you participate to undo the wrong that has been done to our democracy and our country due to the corrupt voting system, and the complete insecurity of our ballot box.

Second, December 12th is not the end, it is the beginning. The end comes when we celebrate a return to a secure democracy. You see,
- when our votes no longer count, are never counted, are changed without our knowledge;
- when government employees interfere with, obstruct, intimidate, mislead, or force voters to stand in line for 8 hours when trying to vote;
- when our ballot box is counted on computers running unsecured software such that the totals can be altered over a phone line or the Internet without leaving a trace;
- when the machines we vote on are rigged with exploits and schemes to favor one candidate over another;

we cannot trust the vote. The true will of the people remains uncertain. With such a complete loss of trust and certainty, we find ourselves in our country with no assurance of democracy and no security to our freedoms. Without doubt, without a secure vote, without our ballot box safeguarded, we are not a secure democracy. Without a secure democracy, we are not a secure nation.

There is no issue that comes from government of greater threat to our country and our future than the loss of integrity in our voting system. Today, your vote can be replaced, changed, or erased and the outcome of our elections controlled without your consent or knowledge. As citizens, we cannot let this stand. It is our responsibility and duty to stand up and insist a return to a secure democracy. We must do this for our children and future generations of Americans, and for the sake of our place as a people in the world.

What will you say to your son or daughter when they ask, "What did you do to save my democracy"? Will you be able to look in their eyes and tell them, "I showed up?"

FOR THE DECEMBER 12TH "YOU STOLE MY VOTE" 51 CAPITOLS PROTESTS
 

Our Votes Don't Count
Regardless of the type of machine you voted on, the vote tabulating PC used to count your vote is open to undetectable vote count manipulation and cannot be trusted.  You have NO assurance your vote counted or were counted.  You have NO assurance your government representatives, as presently constituted, reflect the decision of the people.  Because of this, we are currently living without democracy and without any guarantees our freedoms are assured.
 

Return Our Democracy
The loss of the power of our votes supersedes all other concerns.  Until our voting power is restored and protected, we have no ability to direct the course of our country, our constitutional guarantee to vote is meaningless, and our country is not a democracy.  Before all else, we demand our voting power be restored and protected, and our country return to a democracy.  We want our democracy back.  To that end, we refuse to represent our government and insist our government represent us.

Secure Our Ballot Box
We demand our state and federal representatives formulate in nationwide public debate legislation to guarantee our voting rights, to eliminate unsecured and unverifiable voting systems from our voting process, and enact voting system oversight and protection to ensure the security, reliability, and accuracy of our voting process.

Investigate Election Fraud
We demand our government investigate the hijacking of our democracy and call to account all who are responsible.  We call on our government to: fully investigate vote fraud in the 2004 election; conduct a complete, accurate, and verified manual vote recount; ratify only election results verified by manual recount; and prosecute vote fraud perpetrators to the full extent of the law.  We further demand that all who actively participated in voter suppression by intentionally acting to prevent or discourage voters from voting be prosecuted.  No government employee or contractor has the right to intimidate or interfere with or otherwise obstruct any American citizen exercising their right to vote.
 

Return the Fairness Doctrine
The public airwaves belong to the American people.  With the end of equal time and fair reporting provisions of the Fairness Doctrine, American media no longer serve the interests of American citizens.  The overwhelming silence in reporting vote fraud in the 2004 election is a damning indictment of the presumed fairness and independence of the American press. With very few exceptions, reporting can no longer be assumed to be objective, accurate, unbiased, fair, or informative, and, therefore, can not be trusted.  We demand our media exercise their responsibilities as the citizen's watchdog of our government and place their responsibility of citizenship ahead of their self interests.  We insist our public airwaves be used to serve the interests of American citizens and the Fairness Doctrine be reinstated and enforced.

We Will Not Give Up
As citizens, we will not rest until the power of our votes is restored and the integrity of our ballot boxes are returned and safeguarded.  December 12th is the beginning of a citizen uprising.  Our citizen uprising will grow.  We will return to democracy. We will overcome.

Fellow citizen,

In the 2004 election 80% of votes were counted on tabulator PCs that are 
entirely vulnerable to surreptitious, undetectable vote count 
manipulation. Vote manipulation exploits can easily circumvent state 
election oversight and go undetected.  Because of this vulnerability, 
our voting systems and vote counts can NOT be trusted.  With our votes 
susceptible to violation and our voting systems untrustworthy, as 
citizens, we have a duty to stand up and demand the return of power to 
our votes and safeguards to our voting systems.  This Sunday, December 
12th at noon local time, ALL American citizens are called to converge on 
their State Capitol or Federal Capitol to protest the loss of our voting 
power and the lost security of our voting systems in the 2004 elections. 
Demands put forth by the December 12th protest include:

   To state electors:  Do NOT cast your ballots for president and
   vice-president until state election officials provide a complete,
   fair, accurate, and verified manual vote recount

   To state elected officials; Immediately act to restore integrity to
   our voting systems by adopting state provisions of the Voter's Bill
   of Rights and eliminate unsecured vote tabulation PCs and software.

   To federal elected representatives: Investigate vote fraud and vote
   count manipulation in the 2004 elections with the intent of
   developing and enacting federal guarantees protecting our voting
   power and the integrity of our voting systems.
 
The December 12th nationwide protest is a citizen's uprising. With 
little support and no backing from organizations, citizen groups are 
forming across the country. They are organizing and mobilizing fellow 
citizens in their states to: "Make a Sign and Show Up" at their state 
capitols on December 12th.  Millions of American citizens, upset by how 
our votes and voting systems have been compromised, value their voting 
power and will respond by showing up this Sunday if they hear of the 
protest.  Because our press is largely ignoring the theft of our voting 
power, it is incumbent on we citizens to tell everyone we know to make a 
sign and show up.

In the last election, I went to the polls with my family. We voted on 
e-voting machines rigged with an exploit to deny Kerry Democratic votes. 
When I returned home, I thought of my three young adult children, two 
who voted in their first election, and I wept.  I realized they faced 
futures without the guarantees of freedom and democracy that I have 
enjoyed. I could not sit by and watch their votes be stripped of their 
power and security without doing something.  I now ask you to do something:


1.  Send this email to everyone you know, and ask them to do the same.

2. Make a sign and show up at your state capitol building or the Federal 
Capitol at noon this Sunday, December 12th

The exploit mentioned above occurred on Hart inter Civic eSlate voting 
machines.  The exploit was as follow: if a voter selected "Vote 
Democratic Slate", no vote would register for John Kerry. To complete 
the exploit, the vote review screen opened at the very bottom of the 
ballot. A voter had to scroll through pages of ballot showing democratic 
votes registered one after another.  Only those diligent voters who 
paged back to the top of their ballot would notice no vote registered 
for Kerry. Those not as vigilant, unknowingly lost the power of their 
votes.

In two weeks, December 12th at noon local time, every American citizen 
is called to converge on the 50 state capitals and Washington DC. for 
the 51 Capital "You Stole My Vote" March.
 
WE LOST THE POWER OF OUR VOTES
The vote fraud exhibited in the November election, facilitated by the 
loss of paper trails and 'dirty" voting systems, has resulted in the 
loss of trust in the integrity of our votes. While e-voting machines in 
and of themselves can be easily compromised and manipulated (there are 
ample 'incidents' of such in the November election), the threat 
transcends the machine we vote on. The heart of 'dirty' voting systems 
prevalent in 2004 lies in the computers that tabulate the votes. These 
'tabulator' PCs accept and count the votes from all precincts, 
regardless of the voting machine employed.

Tabulator PCs, as presently designed, offer the feature of easily 
changing vote totals without any trace. Take away any paper trail, and 
there is virtually no way to detect malicious vote manipulation. 
Furthermore, because these PCs are accessible by modem dial-up and/or 
Internet access, it doesn't take a vast conspiracy involving thousands 
of poll workers to massively subvert the vote. A hand full of connected 
PCs is all one needs to alter election results by millions of votes!. 
This 'dirty' system has destroyed the integrity of our voting. As it 
now 
stands, our voting systems can NOT be trusted.

As Americans, we can no longer look to the next election with any 
assurance that our votes will mean anything. The new voting systems are 
so easily compromised and so obviously designed to facilitate vote 
count 
manipulation that citizens are facing for the first time a future 
without hope. Without hope, our innate optimism is diminished, our 
drive 
to succeed impaired, and our ability to dream lost. That which makes us 
great as a people and a country will disappear within a generation.

With a compromised voting system, we are open to tyranny and a complete 
loss of control over our government and elected officials. Without any 
control on the exercise of power, we now face a very real threat to our 
democracy and our freedom. No citizen can dare sit idly by in the face 
of losing all that has brought our country greatness. This is why the 
"You Stole My Vote 51 Capital March is of vital importance to every 
American citizen.

As citizens, it is our duty to stand up and demand the sanctity and 
security of our votes be returned to the ballot box.  The 51 Capital 
"You Stole My Vote" March  is our one opportunity to voice our 
insistence that all votes in the 2004 election be counted accurately 
and 
completely BEFORE state electors cast their votes for President and 
Vice 
President.
